My wife really likes to crush my dreams. Just when I really want to do something or watch something on TV, I am hindered by some household chore or errand from hell (i.e. grocery shopping).The most recent crushing of my relaxation dreams was during the airing of wrestlemania on TV. I had been ranting about it for weeks and was ready to order it on PPV when she asked me to help her paint the kitchen.
Of course, if I were to refuse, I would be sleeping on the couch for a week. Looking back on it that probably would have been worth it. But no, I helped her paint the kitchen.
The whole time I was imagining taking that metal folding step ladder and cracking her over the head with it. Of course I wouldn't really do that, but the wrestlemania has a way of taking over your mind.
Five cans of paint and much grumbling later, the kitchen was done, the wrestling was over and I was ready to sleep on the couch, whether or not I had a choice. Maybe men should get to banish wives from the bed too when they do things that make us mad. Or maybe I will just keep dreaming of wrestling because we know the previous thought will Never happen in this lifetime.
