Non pressure roof cleaning in Cleveland and Columbus Ohio Interview

By Interviewer at 02/05/09 08:21

Ohio, any: Roof cleaning in Columbus Ohio

Name of your website?

Non pressure roof cleaning in Cleveland and Columbus Ohio

Your name?

Matt McGue

Your Location (city, etc)

Columbus

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Our website is designed to inform Ohio homeowners about roof cleaning. Most people think that black stains and streaks on their roof are signs of wear and tear and that they need to replace it. The stains are actually caused by a roof destroying mold that feeds on the limestone in the shingle and can be 100% cleaned. We also inform owners that anything with more pressure than a garden hose can be very harmful to their roof. We apply chemicals at a very low pressure and rinse off with a garden hose. We provide plenty of before and after pictures as well as a video of our work.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

The web is a great medium for getting information to a lot people. There are no limits to what you can put out there. Pictures, videos, blogs, etc.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Our first website was launched in 2006 and it was geared toward our re-roofing company.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

We thought of the words that described what the site was about and what we do.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

we have a very informative FAQ page that breaks up the information in a very readable manner as well as alot of great before and after pics that speak for themselves.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep the site up and running as long as we are operating and to constantly improve it and make it a more enjoyable experiance to the viewer.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I have spent ALOT of time on the site but I would say that 75% of our customers found our service on the web so it balances out well.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I guess that I dont know enough about what is possible to answer the question. I would tell someone who did know how to make it a great site to go ahead and do what they needed to do.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Bring it on!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Getting the image I had for the site in my head to translate into the webpage. It doesnt always work.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Without a doubt the biggest challenge has been getting the site to rank higher in search engines. Seems to be a much more complicated formula then it should be.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

TV commercial.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It is alot harder to promote than I thought it would be.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

In its present state it has been running for 1 year now and I hope to keep it running for the next 50.

What is your website address?
