    Name of your website?

    finish carpentry help

    Your name?

    Pat Fisher

    Your Location (city, etc)

    Becker

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Free finish carpentry instructions to help you for your trim projects.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Hearing about "Site Build It" and doing some research.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Dec. 2007 This is still my first website

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Having my own business in finish carpentry and knowing a lot of people try to do this on their own.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

I have an e-book for sale that I wrote for building hand railings. I wrote it as simple as I could so the general public would understand all the technical jargon or terms and really be able to do it themselves. Unfortunately my sales ability is not as good as my carpentry.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep it and keep adding and helping people. I would like it to eventually get more interactive but again unfortunately I am not that far along and have a substantial amount of learning web site learning to do.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

As of so far way more time then money but I understand building a business takes time and trial and error.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would hire experts in this field of web sites to make the site better for the readers, easier to follow instructions with videos, easier navigation of the site and try to have everything there a visitor may be looking for such as tools, specialty trim wood, and more how to video's. I would really enjoy having some contests.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

yes I would, this is my passion and I would hire people to help if it ever came to that.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

    Nothing out of the ordinary

What has been your biggest challenge?

writing and staying focused on writing also trying to improve my writing. Also the technical stuff with html.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I would have to say the few articles I have written and submitted have been the most successful. My traffic jumped significantly from these articles and I wish I could write one every day.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

At first my expectations were really high and I had big plans although I have learned that diligence and patience rules in this type of business.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Well I have been at it over a year and understand what it takes so I will stick with it through thick and thin.

    What is your website address?
