Name of your website?Allied Remodeling
Your name?
Igor Rae
Your Location (city, etc)
Cleveland
Please give us a short summary of your website?
We wanted to better explain our company as a whole, plus its services and trade specific specialties. It also gives us a chance to show completed job pictures and act as a conduit for industry information or possibly relevant news articles.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Pressure from my two computer connected sons "Dad, come out of the stone age....."
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
We just came live about 3 months ago. The whole process is just fascinating.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Our main webpage mirrors the company name, Allied Remodeling. Our various tradenames also have their own web pages, for example: our carpentry company, Trim Masters, is www.trimmasters.net.
How long have you been in business?
Just over 20 years, we started in 1988.
What has changed through those years?
Wow! Fax machines were just becoming popular, but a lot of people just didn't trust them; we had pagers, a pocket full of dimes and an intimate knowledge of every pay phone location. I also had more hair.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I am passionate about our business and so are our employees. Our "newest" employee has been with us for 5 years, one of the first guys I hired is still with us. Our success is shared.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Whether the economy is up or down, it is important for a small company to be market driven and progressive. We have always promoted new concepts and directions as long as it makes sense to our core business and within the skill level of our employees; capitalization is the key.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Bring on the phone calls! We look forward to earning the customer's business.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Ask me next year.
Are you happy with the number of visits (traffic) on your website?
We are a company looking to do quality work for the right customer, we do not mass produce the end product just to turn over jobs.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
We are committed to this endeavor. I am particularly pleased with the reponse to one our new initiatives just launched in late 2008, Green Deconstruction Services (www.GreenDeconstructionServices.net). There is a good story to tell here. I'm not sure how a small, local company can get some fast track exposure without using the internet.
What new directions are you working on now?
See for yourself: (www.GreenDeconstructionServices.net and www.WindowRestorations.net).
