MonsterClean Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Interview

By Interviewer at 12/31/08 08:05

Name of your website?

MonsterClean Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning

Your name?

James M. Stallings

Your Location (city, etc)

Virginia Beach

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Our site was developed to help MonsterClean stand out in the very crowded carpet and upholstery cleaning industry. It is meant to educate potential clients, convert them into actual clients, and make it easy for clients to inform freinds and co-workers about us.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Fewer and fewer people are using bound paper phone books. Direct mail is expensive. Television and radio ads are generally ineffectual. The web is has become a necessity in today's market. If you are in business without a website, you will probably not be in business for very long!

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

MosterClean.net was my first website. It was posted to the internet in July of 2005.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Choosing a name for my website wasn't very hard. The domain name and my company name are the same. MonsterClean.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

The website looks and feels different than any other carpet cleaners website. Visit our website and learn about our use of the worlds most powerful cleaning machine and the benefits of powered rotary steam wands.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Eventually, the fate of the website will follow the fate of the company behind it.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

This website has been a great money-maker.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

a forum for clients would be something desirable in future revisions / additions to the site.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I think if the site got really big, really fast, it isn't the site I would have trouble keeping up with. Traffic means business, big increases in business would necessitate expansion. I am not fully ready for rapid expansion yet, at least not without help.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Blogs, forums, directory listings, word of mouth, etc.

Paid advertising (with the exception of google adwords) has been a waste of good money.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Huge investment in time to launch, more time invested after launch than I had expected.

What is your website address?

MonsterClean Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning
