What inspired you to launch your own website?
I was inspired when I was searching for home decors to enhance my home following the Art of Feng Shui without looking as a Chinese boutique. I found many Feng Shui stores with Chinese products that are nice but to Chinese for my taste and many decor stores but with no knowledge of Feng Shui. Then I realized that out there are many people like me, looking for home or office decors but without looking as a Chinese store. And most of all with instructions to follow the Art of Feng Shui no matter if you have or not have knowledge of Feng Shui. I will teach you step by step and without a doubt to make errors.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launched my website on May 2008 and Feng Shui Decors Store is my first one.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I wanted a name easy to remember and that means exactly what you read.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Feng Shui Decors Store is different from the other, because all our products are divided in 9 sectors (relationship, creativity, health, knowledge, prosperity, mentors, fame, family and career). Sectors to be enhanced as per the Art of Feng Shui. Instructions will be sent with all our products explaining in detail where to locate your selected item and why in order to enhance the corner of your life in your home or office decor.
Do you need experience or some knowledge to implement Feng Shui with your products?
No experience or knowledge needed to activate each corner of your house or office with our products. Instructions are cleared and easy to follow.
Do you have the instructions in Spanish?
Yes, we have all the information in Spanish also. Si, tenemos toda la información en español.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would be more aggressive in advertisements. And I would expand my store with exclusive collections with a low price.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
This is a difficult question. I do not have an answer at this moment. I hope to be able to keep growing as per as my clients.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
As per many business, money is the issue. Everything cost money and when you are new entrepreneur with big dreams but small budget promotions, advertisement and many other details can be a headache.
What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge with Feng Shui Decors Store was building the website with the nine sectors in which our life are divided following the Art of Feng Shui. Long hours in searching for the right products for each category. We begin with 84 products, but we do not have any limit in searching for more beautiful and chick products to enhance each sector of your life. Our commitment is that your home or office looks beautiful decorated but most of all a home or office that welcomes prosperity and better quality of life.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Actually I am using directories, magazine, mouth to mouth promotions, business cards, a lot of reciprocal links, yahoo among others. For me I would say that the internet directories. You reach more people in less time.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I expected to be more easy. Like any business, you need time and money to make your dream come true. I thought that you create your website, you launched and clients will be visiting your store the same date. Wow, that it is not true, long hours in looking ways to advertise without a lot or any money is not that easy, but such is business. This is the price of being an entrepreneur.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I started on May 2008. My dream is to share with many people the exciting and benefits of the Art of Feng Shui. I want to be big to be able to have more products, more alternatives and better prices for my clients. I want to be in many homes as possible. Each enhanced home is equal to prosperity and a better quality of life for the families. For Feng Shui Decors Store family is first. I want to be the difference in our clients future. I want to show all my clients that they deserve a better future a better life and Feng Shui is the key to open the door of prosperity and harmony.
Do you have to believe in Feng Shui to see results?
No, but if you follow my instructions you will see how the energy of your house is changing for the better. Everything in your home will be located with a purpose. Home decorations and interior design wont' be the same now with Feng Shui.
