Please give us a short summary of your website?
This site gives detailed information on how to reduce the energy consumption of an air conditioner by about 19 percent simply by adding an additive to the compressor.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I am always looking for new ways to save money on my energy consumption at my house and PermaFrost is just one way to do this at an affordable price.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I first launched this site 2 months ago.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I named my site after the air conditioner additive and the name also means frozen tundra which is usually found in Alaska and cold places like that.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
My website stays updated with new energy efficiency information as we find out about it. This allows our customers to know exactly what new products are coming out, how to make more money, and how much things cost.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I plan to use this site to help those who would like to sell PermaFrost additive in their state have a portal where they can list their business.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
My success far outweighs the cost it takes to keep the site running. The time is more then I would like to spend but you have to work hard to make money.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would spend most of my money on scripts that are alreadt programmed and higher a programmer to tweak them how I would like.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I would easily be able to higher people to keep up with demand.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Getting calls at all hours is a headache I was not thinking would happen.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Having to fire someone that I am friends with was my biggest challenge but he did not want to work.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
The best method so far has been to advertise on superpages.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It has been easier for me to run my website then I had thought it would be. I plan to add some additional features which may make it a little bit more complex.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have only been running this site for 2 months but plan to keep it going for several years.
What kind of pet do you have?
I have a gold fish. They are very easy to maintain. I don't have a backyard so dogs are out of the question.
