Lighting Experts provides discount lighting for your bathroom, kitchen, living room or any area in your home. At Lighting Experts, you can buy online using credit cards or Paypal payment methods whether it be for recessed lighting, pendant track lighting, kitchen lighting, bathroom lighting, pendant lighting, ceiling lights and light bulbs.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
To provide best-in-class lighting products with unique designs at an affordable price.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
In the year 2007, Lighting Experts was launched at www.lightingexperts.com
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Our website name was based on the expertise and know-how that we acquired over almost 25 years in lighting design. Our team works intimately with our suppliers to help develop and manufacture lighting solutions based on our customers design and quality expectations.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Our universal recessed lighting fixture is unique because it consists of the same complete unit, ready to install in any ceiling construction. Our Flow� line voltage flexible track lighting system allows for all different light outputs (line voltage or low voltage) to be installed on the track, without being limited by transformers capacity.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To continue to develop new designs and maintain the website as an online shop for all lighting needs.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
As far as time and money are involved, we have not yet reached a conversion rate that could bring us an effective ROI
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We could probably invest more into marketing and advertising which would drive more traffic to the website and at the same time expanding our line of products to provide more options for buyers.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Since we are supported by a well established manufacturing company which is a wholesale supplier for many major hardware chains, we can surely keep up with the demand if the site gets really big very quickly
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Recurring costs for additional software services Advertising campaigns that do not work as expected

Drive more traffic to the website and increase the conversion rate

How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Running our website has actually lowered our expectations which were high at the beginning until we reached a limit of resources
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
We've been running the site for almost a year. We will not be able to keep it up if there are no gains in traffic and conversion rate within another year.
