We are a Licensed & Insured Painting Contractor serving the California Bay Area. Specializing in residential and commercial painting and drywall.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
It is one of the best ways to advertise in this area.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is my first website. We lauched it in 2003.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The first company I owned was Golden State Painting. I took the initials from this company ad created my new company.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
I try to educate my customers on the techniques used in the industry.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I inted on growing the website to cover all aspects of my chosen idustry.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Our website is our main source of income. Most of our clients find us on the internet.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would write more articles to cover more topics about painting, drywall and acoustic.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I believe so. If this were to happe I would have to hire someone to help eadvance the website.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None really. Running a website mainly takes time but it does not require much money except for the design software.
What has been your biggest challenge?
The original layout of the website ad learning how to make a website were my biggest challenges.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Proper search engine optimization is the best method for getting recognized on the internet.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It takes a lot of work and effort to keep exchanging links ad to add more content.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have been running this website for about 5 years. However the past year is when I have really started taking it seriously enough to provide an income.
How much time did you spend on the design of your website?
I had to first teach myself how to design a website by reading books and researching on the internet. After that it took about 3 months of trial and error before I got the layout I wanted
