Name of your website?

Wall Dressed Up

Your name?

Carol Reynolds

Your Location (city, etc)

Overland Park

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Wall Dressed Up has mural transfers which are a unique mural decorating product. The murals simply rub off the transfer paper onto you wall. The murals are as thin as paint and every detail is visible in full color. These murals "cure" into your wall for a hand painted effect! We carry children's murals and murals for the home. Transfer murals are much more affordable than a custom mural with the same effect!

What inspired you to launch your own website?

We wanted to bring our mural artwork to more people in an affordable and fun product that is easy to apply and really looks hand painted! The web is a great place for people to shop for murals, since they can be ordered and shipped anywhere!

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

We launched our business and the website in October, 2007.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

We chose Wall Dressed Up as our company name because that is what mural transfers do...dress up your walls!

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Other products are often "stickers" printed on vinyl or wall paper. With Wall Dressed Up murals, only the dry printed ink image transfers which is as thin as paint! There is no removal necessary...simply paint over if you want to redecorate. Our murals are printed in full color and all the original detail is reproduced.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Grow the website and continue to add murals to our line!

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

We just opened a few months ago, but the product has been well received.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Since we did the site ourselves on a limited budget, we would of course eventually love to have a really "hip" design, but we are pretty happy with our efforts, given our budget.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Nothing really unexpected so far.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Wearing a lot of hats!

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Linking

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I learn something new each day about how to market our site. Wish I had more time in each day to devote to just that. Otherwise it is going smoothly.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Since October 2007.

What is your website address?
