Derek Cosgrove Your Location (city, etc) Ottawa We are Ottawa's leader in environmentally responsible carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and area rug cleaning. We also offer "sandless" wood floor restoration. We are locally owned and operated. What inspired you to launch your own website? Our competition! When did you launch your first website, and what was it? This was our first web site. How did you decide on a name for your website? It seemed appropriate and was available. What makes it different from other, similar offerings? It is well organized, colourful, and it has a purpose. What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?) To increase sales, generate sales leads, and increase awarness of our company. How does your investment of time and money balance against your success? It has paid off severalk times over in just a few months. If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site? I would optimize it to increase organic hits. If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand? yes What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with? We used a template that is not the most effective in terms of optimization. What has been your biggest challenge? Increasing the amount of visitors What method has been most successful for promoting your website? adwords, directories, etc. How has running your website differed from your expectations? We have recieved more business than I expected. How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity? 4-5 months - i will keep it up as long as our business is alive. If you could go back in time, what would you change? I would have the entire page redone to make it more effective and increase our organic traffic. What is your website address?
