I do agree that it helps to remodel a house if you are about to sell it to increase its market value. However, the extent of remodeling that has to be done depends on the state of the house just before it is about to be sold.
You definitely have to make it look very appealing to your target market. If it is an upscale house for the affluent, it has to be elegant enough to meet their discriminating taste.
Come to think of it, even if it is a house for middle-income families, it pays to remodel it to make it look fabulous.
