What inspired you to launch your own website?
The recognition that consumers are increasingly looking at the internet as a first source of information on potential buys of goods & services.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is it, for this company.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The company name.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Listings of our actual features, products, brands, equipment and qualifications, with less emphasis on wild sales pitches, and visual gimmicks. The website avoids Flash, javascript, and other troublesome tricks, and uses "fluid design" to assure maximum compatibility with the widest possible range of visitors' computers.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To improve business for the company.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We'll see.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Don't know that I would.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Probably not an issue, since we're not enlarging it.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Small extra costs for added links, search-engine notification, and minor picture hassles.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Gathering all the info and images needed, quickly and efficiently.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
We'll see.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Don't know. It's new.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Just developed it, and expect it to last for years.
What is the best aspect of the site?
It's designed to work for everyone.
