Access Tubs Interview

By Interviewer at 10/21/09 20:06

Name of your website?

Access Tubs

Your name?

Walt Richardson

Your Location (city, etc)

Brooklyn, NY

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Access Tubs' therapeutic Walk-in tub will bring back the safety and security of a peaceful bath once again. If you have been depriving yourself of a luxurious bath or shower because you are unable to step over your tub or you are afraid of the risk of slipping, then the Access Tub is your solution. It offers an inward opening door, making entry and exit from the bath a simple process. In addition, it features the lowest step-in entry on the market today, which will in turn provide you with safety and comfort you are looking for. The low step will eliminate the need for any assistance when entering the tub. Once inside, you simply lower yourself onto the 17" inch contoured seat and begin bathing.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Our walk-in bath tubs are primarily sold in Costco US stores nationwide. Therefore we have decided to launch a website which will educate our customers of all the benefits that our products feature.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is our first website for walk-in tubs. It was lunched in October of 2008.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Since most of our products are designed for elderly/disabled customers, we decided that "Access Tubs" can be interpreted as "Easy Access to your Tub".

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Besides the fact that we sell our products directly to one of US largest retail chain, we put all our effort in educating our customers about our products. Call 1-877-249-2388 and our operators will help you determine which tub will best suit your needs.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Our goal is to make walk-in bath tubs available to the public at affordable prices. Unlike our competitors, we are targeting average consumers who cannot afford spending thousands of dollars on a walk-in bath tub.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

By dedicating ourselves to quality products and service, we are able to sell our products at Costco - one of US largest retail chain.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We would like to include educational videos and diagrams so that our consumers will have a better understanding of all the benefits of our merchandise.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Absolutely.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Due to heavy weights of our bath tubs, we are required to include high shipping costs in our prices.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Penetrating the marketing with walk-in tubs as some of our potential customers are not familiar with this type of product.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Our website address is listed on costco.com's product page. We are also investing a lot of money and effort into online marketing and advertisement.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

No, everything is as we expected.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

We are planning on expanding our site in the near future. Make sure to visit our site and check out our informative section.
