Keep Drivers in Your Driveway, and Out of Your Yard

I live in a small town where there are a lot of older houses. In the neighborhood that I live in, most home owners have to share a driveway with their neighbor. My driveway is the same way. The main street that goes through town is right in front of my house. That is where you enter the driveway. My driveway goes straight from the main street and divides my house from the neighbors, and goes straight up connecting to the street behind my house.

Well my neighbors have teenage kids who always have friends over. That is all fine. They have a mini parking lot behind their house as well as I do. Well at the back of my driveway, people tend to cut the corner and drive in my yard. They do it out of carelessness.

Well after dealing with it for 6 months I decided I would try and prevent it. I went out to where I go camping, found the biggest rock I could and put it at the corner of my yard where it meets the driveway. The rock was probably as big as a 30 gallon garbage can. It was a nice looking rock though. I put it in my yard and planted some nice flowers around it.

Sometimes people still hit it, but at least its only sometimes, and my yard looks good again. Adding the rock into my landscape was a good move. It looks awesome. And when people do cut the corner, they will learn a lesson. It took a few weeks to get the ruts out of my yard, but now it looks great!
