I learned something new today. I had always thought that homes lost heat upward through the roof because heat rises. I thought that the only place you had to worry about insulation would be the attic beuase that is where the heat loss comes from.I knew you had to insulate the walls, but I thought this was because you were trying to keep the cold OUT, not the heat in. I found out in an article today that heat naturally flows from any warmer space to a cooler space. When it comes to replacing your carbon monoxide detector, there are a couple of things to think about. CO detectors do not have as long a life as regular smoke detectors. They have a normal life span of about 5 to 7 years. The labeling that provides a build date or expiration date are fairly new, so if yours doesn't have one, it is probably time to get a new one. Obviously, the first thing you need to do is make sure the power is off to the outlet. Shut off the power in the breaker box. You can use a circuit tester to make the outlet has no power running to it. if you don't have a tester you can plug something in to the outlet and try to turn it on (i.e. lamp) to make sure there is no power running to the outlet.Read more: How To Replace An Outlet [click] Tags: how to replace an outlet • replace recepticle • outlet wiring • recepticle wiring • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

It is sad to know that even in the home improvement industry, some people still have the guts to commit fraud. In this industry, what most of these scam artists will do is to take the hard-earned money of the victims as downpayment, and then walk away from the project. These kinds of projects are largely difficult to prosecute since they have an excuse: the project is still underway.Read more: Dealing with Home Improvement Fraud [click] Tags: prosecution • home improvement fraud • home improvement industry • 0 Comments. - Permalink |
