Florida Film Solutions Tampa Bay Interview

By Interviewer at 11/11/09 19:06

Florida, any: FFS Logo Name of your website?

Florida Film Solutions Tampa Bay

Your name?

Blake Van Weelde

Your Location (city, etc)

Tampa

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Florida Film Solutions located in the Tampa Bay region is helping home and business owners add value to their property one window at a time. In a time of decreasing property values consumers are turning to services and products that will increase value or even help them save money. Florida Film Solutions offers an array of window film products that will reduce buildings energy consumption, at the same time blocking annoying glare, heat, and damaging UV rays entering through untreated windows.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

We wanted to have an avenue for our current and potential clients to learn more about our company and the products and services available to them.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

The first one I launched was the original Florida Film Solutions website over three years ago, but have since had it redesigned and updated.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

We used our business name for the website. When deciding on our business name we wanted it to be somewhat general but also descriptive and represent our state Florida.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Our website I believe is more organized and easier to navigate than most. We believe that the easier it is to find information and use the website than it is more likely we will earn the customers business.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

We intend to keep it unless the business is sold one day.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It goes back and forth, sometimes I work more for less, but also it can go the other way too. It usually balances out to where you get out of it what you put in.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would have it a lot more interactive while keeping it user friendly and have more sections added.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Not at first, but we are more of a local company, not national.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

I have not had any problems or cost I did not already expect, hopefully it stays that way.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Creating original content and organizing the website in a way that works the best.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I would have to say pay per click and related business listings.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It is always a constant job to maintain and keep it fresh and search able.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Over three years and will keep it as long as I own Florida Film Solutions.

What is your website address?

Florida Film Solutions Tampa Bay
