    Name of your website?

Alex Paterson Ames Taping and Jointing

    Your name?

    Alex Paterson

    Your Location (city, etc)

    Edinburgh

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Clicks and mortar portal to my world of bricks and mortar. Taping and Jointing / Drywall finishing info, faq, contact details and photos etc.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

To advertise my business to the world 24/7.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is my first, launched on March 10 2008.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Managed to buy the domain name for my trade name (in Scotland)

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

We have a history and FAQ page where anyone can ask Q&A's. A blog or forum will be added very soon.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Just to keep my family fed and the roof over our head. Anything else is a bonus. I couldnt sell this site as it is my ambilical cord to the world, it brings in so much work for us.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Pretty good. A wee bit hard work never hurt anyone, it was well worth the time and energy.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would let someone else run it for me and let them decide.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

    Yep. Of course.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None whatsover. Its been a pleasure.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Removing buggy code from the website when it first started. Didnt display correctly in browsers other than Internet Explorer.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Didnt mess with anything. It was planned for a long time, built then I left it alone other than a few tweaks here and there.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

    It hasnt.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

7 months. Bought the domain name for 2 years but looking to increase to 10 years.

    What is your website address?

Alex Paterson Ames Taping and Jointing
