Please give us a short summary of your website?

My website is about the carpet cleaning services I offer in Colorado. I focus on the cities of Boulder, Arvada, Longmont and Broomfield.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I launched my website to compete with the big carpet cleaning companies in my area.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

My first website was colorado-carpet-masters.com and it was first launched in Feb. 2005.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I used my business name plus I structured the URL in accordance with a recommendation of a friend in the SEO industry.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

My websites unique feature is the way it uses city pages to rank for its main keyterms locally.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To go national.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I am reasonably successful with my business.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would build my entire site on a blogging engine, do massive promotional campaigns and live happily ever after.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

One can only hope.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Web designers that vanish after payment along with the steep learning curve of web design and seo.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Start up capital

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I am fairly successful gaining traffic thru the organic listings of search engines.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Its hard to do it your self and do it right.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I have run my site, colorado-carpet-masters.com for about 3 years. I hope my childrens', children will eventually run my firm.
