What inspired you to launch your own website?

We saw a great opportunity online for selling cabinet hardware. We have always had the right tools to do so.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

2000, www.citylightdesigns.com

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Just thought about the most relevant keywords for the industry and tacked on "e" in front of it, thus having eCabinetHardware.com.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

We have the easiest to use and most thoughtfully laid out site on the market. We are innovators in terms of selling and displaying information on our site in this industry.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To become the best hardware site in the market.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

We are just starting out. We have dumped about 1000 hours into the site and now we are marketing, and then we will wait for it all to come out of the other side.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We have an unlimited budget. Our site is nearly as perfect as we need it to be. We are our own development staff.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Absolutely!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The rip off of Adwords. There is so much click fraud we have had to stop deploying ads.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Nothing really.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

SEO.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It hasnt.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

4 months so far. We now have over 2000 pages in the Google index. We will get the traffic we need because we have a strong SEO strategy in place.
